Angel Plants Inc. is headquartered in Dix Hills, Long Island, New York.  Our main facility encompasses 28,000 sq. ft. of glass greenhouses, 40,000 sq. ft. of gutter connected poly houses and 8000 sq. ft. of warehouse space.  By owning and maintaining 21 trucks, we are able to guarantee frequent and reliable deliveries.  In addition, our flexibility in contracting temperature control carriers enhances our dependability during the peak servicing periods.

How it began…..

Angel Plants had its beginnings in 1972 when Edo Romagnoli began working part-time for his brother-in-law, Lenny Santoro, the leader in grower sales representation in the New York Metro area.  Each day after completing his full-time job as a New York City police officer, Edo would deliver plants in his station wagon to area garden centers.

Simultaneously, Edo’s son Chuck, a recent graduate of St. John’s University, assumed the lead sales role in his uncle’s firm.  Chuck maintained and continued the development of Santoro Sales, Inc. as a primary broker of quality nursery stock during the unexpected illness and eventual passing of his uncle, Lenny.  Working hand-in-hand, the father and son team began to develop strong working relationships with the finest growers of foliage plants in Florida and throughout the U.S., allowing them to substantially increase the product offerings to their customers.

The business began in the Romagnoli family garage in Ozone Park, Queens, but the expanding product line and logistics of distribution soon called for additional space.  First, a simple store front adjacent to a bar, then on to an older greenhouse facility.  In 1979 Edo and Chuck officially combined their operations as partners in the incorporation of Angel Plants and moved to a new greenhouse located on the grounds of one of Long Island’s premier garden center retailers.  In 1982 continued growth and an increased customer base allowed Angel Plants to break ground at their current headquarters, a six acre site located in Dix Hills, New York.  This state-of-the-art distribution facility incorporated modern greenhouses with warehouse shipping capabilities that rivals the world’s finest.  The company now employs over 60 people and serves over 4,000 customers in ever-expanding markets.  With sound business strategies, attention to the needs of the customer, and some of the best people in the industry, Angel Plants will continue to be an industry leader well into the 21^st century.
